Start with their age

Which class is right for my child's age?

Elevate places dancers by age and grade first, so every child lands in a room with kids at their own stage. Little ones start in Creative Movement at age 3, kids and tweens climb the ballet ladder level by level, and teens train in the advanced classes, pointe included.

3-6

Little Ones: Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet

Creative Movement welcomes 3 and 4 year olds (K3-K4) and is built on the Ready, Set, Dance preschool curriculum. Pre-Ballet takes 5 and 6 year olds (K5). Both meet Thursday afternoons at the studio, and also on site at Westwood on Tuesdays and BCCS on Wednesdays.

Or start with a style

What styles can my dancer learn?

Six dance styles run under one roof: ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and tumbling, plus pointe for advanced dancers by placement. Most dancers start with ballet, add styles as they grow, and every style follows the same age ladder, so your child is never dropped into a class beyond their level.

Ballet

The spine of every dancer's training. Ballet starts in the Ballet/Tap 1 combo at ages 6-7 and climbs level by level to Ballet 6 for ages 13 and up. A dancer's ballet level sets which other classes they add.

Tap

Tap begins alongside ballet in the combo classes at ages 6-7 and runs Tap 1 through Tap 5, moving up level by level with the ballet ladder.

Jazz

Jazz 1 opens at the Ballet 2 level, ages 7-8, and builds through Jazz 5 for the most advanced dancers. Every jazz class is matched to the dancer's ballet level.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop joins the lineup at Ballet 3, ages 8-10, and runs through Ballet 5b. It is on the schedule twice a week, Mondays and Thursdays.

Contemporary

Contemporary 1 begins at Ballet 4, ages 9-12, and builds through Contemporary 2 and 3 as dancers reach the advanced levels.

Tumbling

Tumbling 1 starts with the first combo classes at ages 6-7, and Tumbling 2 through 4 are placed by skill, not just age. Tumbling runs alongside every level of the ladder.

Pointe

Pointe is earned by placement. Pre-Pointe opens at Ballet 5a, Pre/Beginning Pointe at Ballet 5b, and intermediate and advanced pointe at Ballet 6.

Can my child take more than one class?

Yes, and many dancers do. Combo classes pair ballet and tap in a single trip at the youngest levels, and dancers add jazz, tumbling, hip hop, and contemporary as they move up the ladder. Monthly tuition rewards adding classes, from $65 for one each week up to $290 for eight.

Two ways to find their class

Start from your child's age with the ladder above, or start from the style they are curious about. Either road ends in the same place: one free trial class to see the fit for yourself.

Where we dance

Where are classes held?

Almost every class meets in one of three studios at 108 S Harney St in Camilla, in the heart of Mitchell County. Elevate also teaches Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet on site at Westwood on Tuesdays and BCCS on Wednesdays, so the littlest dancers can start right where they already are.
